The Abasol Group was founded in 1998 and provides renewable energy consultancy, engineering, design, and installation services, especially in the photovoltaic solar and solar thermal sectors. Since 2008, it has formed part of the Prestige Group and the Inland Group. The company is certified by the Spanish Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE), and is a member of the Spanish Photovoltaic Industry Association (ASIF) and the Spanish Solar Thermal Industry Association (ASIT). Abasol has branches in Madrid, Burgos, Toledo, Almeria, Malaga, Ciudad Real, Levante, Badajoz, Barcelona and Seville. As well as operating throughout Spain, where it has constructed over 300 installations, the Abasol Group is also active in Italy, Bulgaria and France.

Technological milestones
In 2009, the Abasol Group constructed a 600 kW photovoltaic plant on the roof of the R.C.D. Espanyol football stadium in Barcelona, which can generate 680,000 kWh of electricity per annum. In 2006, it installed photovoltaic panels with a nominal power rating of 16.9 kW on three facades (SE, S and SW) of the Social Health Complex of the Reina Sofia Alzheimer Association in Madrid. It has also rolled out a number of major installations such as a 2 MW plant in Tauste (Zaragoza) in 2008, and a 1.3 MW installation in Terque (Almeria) in 2007.
