Founded in 1997 as an electrical installation company, Pevafersa entered the photovoltaic sector after the electricity market was deregulated. It designed the first dual-axis solar tracker, along with a solar tracking and fault control system.
In 2006, it opened the first photovoltaic solar panel plant in Castilla y LeÛn. That same year, it opened its tracker production facility, thereby guaranteeing the supply of raw material and enabling it to begin taking orders. The following year, the company opened its second mono-crystalline and polycrystalline solar panel plant, with a total output capacity of 60 MW. In September 2009, it opened the first phase of a solar cell treatment line with an output capacity of 60 MW per line.
Pevafersa also manufactures solar thermal collectors and installs grid-connected and stand-alone solar arrays.

International reach
As one of the most well-known companies in the Spanish photovoltaic sector, it has developed strong ties with leading technology companies around Europe such as Schimd, Roth & Rau, Meyer Burger, PPP and Q Solar. As well as Spain, Pevafersa operates in the United States, Puerto Rico, France, Italy, Africa and Eastern Europe.

At the end of 2009, 9REN had 97 MW of ground-based photovoltaic arrays in Spain and 22 arrays mounted on the roofs of small, medium and large companies. It also had 22 MW of roof-mounted arrays in Italy. The company has designed dedicated software for monitoring and controlling these installations, which is being used for both its own arrays and those of third parties. In the solar thermal market, 9REN has installed 160,000 square metres and 147 systems in Spain. Its objective for 2012 is to have installed 700 MW of photovoltaic power and 150 MW of wind power.
